Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner!

So, yeah.  When I first got married (just over a year ago), I was like what the heck am I supposed to do for dinner EVERY night!?  Because apparently, girls and guy eat very differently.  And a "oh I had a big lunch, I'll just have a powerbar for dinner" isn't going to work for my husband.  He likes 3 meals a day and for one of those to be a big dinner!
So I started making this recipe book.  Not necessarily to remember how to cook things, but more to remember what there is to cook!  Any time I throw something together that's quick, simple, has minimal ingredients, and tastes good, I put it in The Book!
Here's a super easy chicken recipe that made the cut, enjoy!

Cut up chicken breasts into bite sized cubes
Chop up onions and garlic
Put everything into a crock-pot with some BBQ sauce (I like sweet Baby Ray's honey BBQ sauce)
Set on Hi for 2-2.5 hrs

So easy right!?  But it doesn't come out like BBQ chicken, there's more sauce in it and the taste is more neutral.  We had it over Indian rice (you'll have to contact Susannah for that one!).

Living because of Christ

"As the living Father has sent Me, and I live because of the Father. So he who eats Me, he also shall live because of Me."

I really appreciated this verse this morning. Christ lives because of the Father! The Father is His source, His power for living! So also he who eats this Christ will live because of Him!

Gluten Free Peanut Butter Cookies!

Gluten-Free Peanut Butter Cookies!

1 cup peanut butter (chunky)
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 Tbsp baking powder
chocolate chips

If you use a natural peanut butter, for some reason it's kind of salty, so you can also add some white sugar.  The cheap "plastic" looking peanut butter is the best, haha.

Bake at 350 for about 10 min

Go therefore!

This morning I was enjoying the Lord's name!  "Go therefore and disciple all the nations, baptizing them into the NAME!" I had just finished reading Matthew last night and was impressed with the Lord's person.  This morning as I was praying over the last verse, I realized a little more of how precious the Lord's name is. O Lord Jesus! Your NAME!  Your PERSON!  You!

"Christ loved the church"

Ephesians 5:25-27:
"Husbands, love your wives even as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her that He might sanctify her, cleansing her by the washing of the water in the word, that He might present the church to Himself glorious, not having spot or wrinkle or any such things, but that she would be holy and without blemish."

Freshman in the Morning

Aaaah, the sound of freshman in the morning... Orientation still going on and we at Christian Students are up early every day to meet them!
"But to Him who is able to do superabundantly beyond all that we ask or think, to Him be the glory in the church and in Jesus Christ for ever and ever, Amen."

Test Run - Christians on Campus & Christian Students Workshop Report

Just trying this blog thing out.  I've just gotten back from Austin, TX from a Christian Students and Christians on Campus staff and involved students and families workshop (whew, that was a long title!).  And I enjoyed it so much! Praise the Lord for the homes of the believers! Our needs can be met in the homes, we can be supplied and strengthened in the homes, we can be encouraged in the homes, we can be related in the homes!  I just enjoyed the homes!  In a larger group, it's hard to bring something up for prayer.  But in the homes, in the small groups of 3-5, there is the atmosphere for care and love!
We've had freshman orientation all summer long so far and it's so good to be out representing Christians Students and talking to freshman!  Lord, gain freshman this semester and meet their needs in the homes!
